Everyone loves snacks. Or: Gen Z and millennials are united in our love of snacks. Or: I, Lily, love snacks. Goddamn I love snacks. I love snacks so much I’m starting a stupid Substack about it.

Because, you see, I am writing you from Pune, India: the heretofore unacknowledged world capital of snacks. I started to write last week about Pune snacks— namely Chitale bakarwadi— but then immediately had to add that Chitale is also home to the city’s best chirote, and then, you know, add Kantaben khakhra and you’ve got a holiday snack hamper, and omg Budhani wafers, and what about all the sweets, god, chikki! Not to mention Sakas or like the whole khari cream roll gambit and Bharti suggested the title and here we are.
